Austria 2014

A much needed evolution in the ski industry took place recently when Reed Travel Exhibitions announced the inaugural International Ski Travel Market (ISTM) event to take place in Kitzbuhel, Austria on March 17th & 18th of next year.

 International Ski Travel Market (ISTM)

Reed Travel Exhibitions is responsible for 500 events in 41 countries and are well known as one of the world’s leading event organisers. Their foray into the ski trade is a vote of confidence in the future of this, arguably, most important aspect of the Alpine industry.

As a sign that such an event is sorely needed, the impending launch has already attracted backing from some of the strongest brands in the snow sports industry. The ISTM will bring under one roof a comprehensive representation of tourism boards from resorts across Europe, ski travel suppliers as well as outbound ski tour operators. Interaction will be facilitated by a programme of pre-arranged appointments allowing attendees to efficiently manage their networking and research.

In addition to the pre-scheduled appointments Peter Grimster, Exhibition Manager at Reed Travel Exhibitions, adds that the two-day programme will include a selection of topical industry seminars and networking opportunities. With the aim being to ensure that buyers and exhibitors are presented with ample opportunity to benefit from this exclusive platform. “There are key representatives from across the ski industry signed up,” adds Grimster, “and the buzz surrounding the event continues to generate excitement right across the global ski travel industry.”

With host partners Arosa Resorts & Holidays and the Kitzbuehel Tourism Board, this event seems to be one worth attending; if for no other reason to see whether it is worth returning the year after.
